Somatic Movement Therapy 

Join me for a private Zoom sessions in somatic movement therapy. The session will be tailored to meet your specific body needs. You tell me what you need help with and I'll show you easy core muscles for re-organizing your body and getting centered. Great for improving alignment, joint stability, and muscular balance. Also great for those with chronic pain associated with posture and movement issues.

Here's some of the types of exercises

  • Neuromuscular patterning to address stubborn posture and movement patterns that contribute to pain and discomfort

  • Core muscle activation to enhance overall alignment, balance, body awareness and control, and general health.

  • Functional joint motion to improve structural realignment and body awareness.

  • Movement exercises for every body system, including fluids, organs, and glands.

  • Rolfing movement exercises, Bartenieff fundamentals, Body-Mind Centering, PNF patterns, neural stretches, and a detailed study of the muscles and joints.

Zoom session (60-90 minutes)

$75 per hour

Sliding scale for starving artists, aerialists, and dancers.

TIPS FOR ZOOM SETUP

 

You will need a space of at least 8 by 8 feet to move in,

preferably with a soft carpet or exercise mat to lie on.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for movement.

You should have a chair to sit on, ideally one with a flat seat for seated exercises. Kitchen chairs work well for this purpose. You will also need to hold onto the chair for balance during some of the standing exercises.​

 

For exercises that you do lying on the floor, I will want to observe you and provide feedback. To streamline this process, log in to Zoom before the session and adjust your camera so I can see your whole body. 

 

If you organize your Zoom setup before the session, we’ll have

more time to focus on what you want during the session.
